New Orleans Baby

Hey loves, 

so since I spent my weekend in New Orleans with 47 other Au Pairs I thought it's worth making another follow me around video which I am currently working on so hold on tight ladies and gentlemen. ;)
So after our 6 hours road trip from Houston to New Orleans, we arrived at 8 PM at our Hotel which was only 5 Minutes away from the Hotel were our Weekend-class was (awesome, right?). Friday was a really relaxing day, recovering from the exhausting car ride, but let me tell you that I've met some adorably sweet Au Pairs this weekend. 
Saturday was our sightseeing-tour and our guide (GOSH) she was such a creeper. She was so weird, even our teacher thought she's weird and our teacher was brilliant! She was so hilarious and cute, I loved her! So since our teacher didn't like her and because we didn't really had the chance to walk through New Orleans because our 8 hours tour was mostly just sitting in that damned bus, she managed to talk to the school, convincing them to give us 50$ back because the tour was shitty. (More money to be lavish AF) ;D

So yeah Sunday was nice even though it was just sitting in the class, but since our teacher was hilarious as f*ck (AF), I still enjoyed the day (maybe it's because we had writing as a subject and I LOVE IT!).

Houston-treasures with Jessica.

Hey there guys, 
so Jessica arrived in Houston yesterday and we spent some time bicycling/walking through Houston, visiting Discovery Green and Sam Houston Park, walking through underground tunnels, exploring some underground shopping areas with a cute souvenir shop.
Since the weather was incredible we had the chance to spent tons of times outdoors which was just lovely. We just took thousands of pictures and it really felt like we know each other for years, but actually we don't which was really fun! (Thank you Jessica for the great day!)

On our way home we bicycled along the bayou river and it was pretty impressive what we found there! Since I've never been there before it was also a new experience exploring Houston with new places which I am absolutely going to visit again! :)

After arriving back at home we decided to take a UBER taxi to get to the Water Wall in downtown Houston since it was too late to bike there and it would have been pretty exhausting bicycling there! And let me break this down for you: THE WATER WALL IS IMPRESSIVE! *o*

After our little watery adventure we just grabbed some dinner at the Galleria Mall and went back to my house, chilling out while getting ready for the next day because today was the day Jessica needed to catch her bus to Austin! :)

spring fever.

Hey there love!

How are you? Hope you're fine. Well, I am because today is a lovely day: between 15-23 degree Celsius, sunshine, and a warm breeze surrounding me. (But tomorrow it's supposed to become worse again. NOOO!)

Well since I have a slip shift today (6-9 AM and then 6-12 PM), I thought I should go for a short run and I did, then I decided to walk to my favorite store: TARGET to buy some groceries and a lovely jumping rope (time to get into shape, Florida is only 1 month away!)

And since I am really into making videos right now, I started filming my neighborhood to show you guys what it looks like when I am leaving my home (I am currently editing it!). Moreover, there is going to be a new video up really soon because I thought you guys deserve a proper New York City video from the day I arrived here in the US. 

Additionally to this, I thought I might try to upload frequently - every other Sunday- (only if I am not working of course) and surprise you with some videos :)

A colorful experience.

Hey hello there, 

how are you? I hope you're fine and you had an amazing start into your weekend because I had an adorable start into mine because today was the 5K COLOR RUN *yeah* and let me tell you that the color run was pretty impressive even though most of the people weren't running! There was a small stage with a DJ who played really good music (clubbing music) and since we arrived there at 9:25 AM we started with the last wave and ran/walked the 5K (I still think that these weren't 5K because it was really short though, but who cares)! 

After that there was an after-run party where the DJ played music and they threw color packages into the crowd in order to get everyone even more colored which was really amazing. The girls I went with and I, we each had one more package and went pretty crazy at the very end of the party! :) 

I really loved the color run!

DALLAS

Hello there,

how was your weekend? I hope you'd a lot of FUN and you enjoyed valentine's day (well I spend mine with my lovely little S. does that count?). 

On Friday 2-13-2015 we drove off to DALLAS! 

After 4 1/2 hours car drive (it sucked) we arrived at one of the most amazing hotels I've ever been. It was so huge and there was a huge roofed indoor yard with a river walk and tons of flowers, trees, water and an indoor pool connected with a gym. Moreover, there was a non roofed yard outside with an outdoor pool, tons of trees, flowers and water which was so lovely!

(That is the indoor yard! Amazing right?)

(And this is outdoor! So lovely! It reminded me of a castle!)

somehow reminds someone of Italy, right?!)

Actually, I didn't do that much because my whole Saturday was child caring for little S. from 8 AM until 6 PM. Didn't have a chance to see downtown DALLAS, but maybe I am going to get back there really soon. Some of my Au Pair friends are planning to go there and asked me whether I want to join them and HELL YEAH I would love to!

Park Ride

Hello there beautiful people,

today was a lovely day with amazing weather including sun, wind and 22 degree Celsius. So since I've only worked this morning from 6-9 AM I decided to join my host mom and my little S. to the nature center in Memorial Park and it was really cute and it's so cool that you feel like you're at a Safari even though you are still in your neighborhood and although I forgot my camera at home I still took some pictures with my phone for y'all!

(I needed to show you these cute turtles!)

After coming home from the nature center and the lovely hiking trails it was only 1 PM so I decided to eat a piece of that delicious apple pie my host mom made and after that I told myself that I need to exercise to balance my bad snack out so I went for a bike ride which took me nearly 2 hours through downtown Houston where I needed to walk for 15 minutes, but then I checked out 3 different parks. 

First, Sam Houston Park.

Awesome, right?

Second, Eleanor Tinsley Park. 

Third, Buffalo Bayou Park.

Unfortunately, I don't have any pictures

for this park, but just because I am going

to attend on a boat trip through that park

in future and then I will take tons of pictures!

And that was my day! 

Since it's only 6:15 PM I still have some time left to enjoy and relax and tomorrow is going to be another amazing day! This week is so much fun due to the fact that we are heading off to DALLAS this weekend! AMAZING!

Discovery Green Cluster

Hello there,

I hope that you're fine! 

So today is Sunday 2-8-2015 and I have another cluster meeting at Discovery Green Park in downtown Houston! Since the weather was adorable (20 degree, sunshine combined with a cold breeze) I decided to bicycle downtown which was actually a great workout (nearly 1.5h workout in total). Seeing the other Au Pairs, talking to them and talking to my LCC was really amazing, but the best part was that we had a lovely guide showing us the whole park and telling us something about Discovery Green. She was a really lovely, older lady and she really did a great job keeping the tour exciting!

P.S.: I am so annoyed by the fact that I can't really plan my fitness routine because my schedule changes every damn single week and next week I am working 25 out of my 45 hours on the weekend which sucks. I guess I just need to try to do some Pilates and stick to eating super healthy and clean (70% nutrition). 

Space out of January 2015.

Hello there,

so I still can't believe that the first month of 2015 is already over and we are pursuing the second month tomorrow! (WOW!)

So since today is the 1-31-2015 I thought I should do something special just for you guys!

Things you should do in Houston: Visiting the NASA Space Center and that's what I did. 

Nadja, Jenny, Melanie, Lenka (these are all other Au Pairs and all of them except for Lenka are from Germany) and I wanted to see what the Space Center looked like and since I took my camera with me (yes I think I am used to take the camera with me now and since there were so many people taking pictures I didn't feel too awkward taking pictures), I am going to show you some of my favorite pictures.

Since the main center was really cute, but still a little bit boring (because you need to pay extra cash even though we already paid 23$ for the entrance when you really want to check out the cool stuff) we decided to take a tour with the free (hurrah) train. Due to the really long line at the red tour we decided to go for the blue tour which led us to the controlling center of NASA and one huge rocket which was really impressive!

(On workdays there are actually people working there

and you are not allowed to watch it so since we went

there on a Saturday we were lucky to get in there!)

Adventurous Bicycle-Tour to Memorial Park

Hey there,

so today I decided to bike to "Memorial Park" which is supposed to be a big and beautiful park around here. 25 minutes. 
That's the time my navigation system told me I would need to bike there. 

To my surprise it took me only 25 minutes and then I realized that bicycling isn't allowed in the park which is basically just ridiculous. Seriously, why can't people bike through the park?! 

So I walked my bike which was annoying, but I biked there in order to get some great pictures to show you! (I just saw like 1/4 of the park because this park is huge, but more later.)

             

             

But somehow, I wasn't really satisfied with my view so I decided to bike to the nature center in order to have some amazing pictures which I could show you.

So ladies and gentlemen, this is how the adventure began. 

My navigation system led me through the busiest part of Houston I've ever seen. There was so much traffic that I felt out of place being the only one on my bike surrounded by hundreds of cars. There was one brief moment I thought that I would burst out into laughter, but I kept my mouth shut. Didn't want to attract more attention than necessary. 

So after 30 minutes of biking through the heavy traffic - or whatever you want to call it - I ended at the opposite street where I started my adventure and that's when I realized I was pranked by my navigation system. Seriously, I got pranked good. 

Being pissed as f*ck I decided to bike home and grab some lunch after already spending 1 1/2 hour at Memorial Park. Shortly before biking home I though I should give this view a try and took a shot for you. (Still annoyed by the fact that these pictures are not as beautiful as I hoped they would)

Since I got back still being alive I can't decide whether it was worth bicycling there, but at least a got a great workout and spend two hours outdoors.
